Christ the King and Church Planting

CTK partners with other churches in the area to plant new churches. Our partnership with the Texas District LCMS and Lamb of God Lutheran Church in Humble has resulted in the launch of “The Dwelling,” ( under the leadership of Pastor Seth Kunze. By God’s grace, this community of believers is growing as it reaches out to disconnected people.
Our partnership has shifted and expanded to include Resurrection Lutheran Church in Spring.  Thus, Resurrection, Christ the King, The Dwelling and the Texas District are partnering together to launch our next church plant in the vicinity of I-45 and the Grand Parkway.  Resurrection recently called Pastor Mark Pulliam and his wife, Laura, to be the planting team for this new church.  Click here to learn more about the Grand Parkway Church Plant. Please pray for the Lord to use these church plants to connect disconnected people to Jesus.
The model which this partnership uses for church planting is identified as a residency model. It is based on the Texas District’s framework right place, right person, right plan.”  The right place is the targeted region which the partnership identifies. The right person is sought through prayer and the search efforts of partners. The right plan is the clarification of the approach for planting which the church planting pastor defines. During the initial residency year, the church planting pastor visits the partner churches with an attitude that God wants to grow his church and sometimes that means people will leave one local congregation to help start another. A high level of trust and Kingdom focus results in a launch filled with joy and anticipation for what God is doing.
