COMMON QUESTIONS
- Q: When and where does confirmation take place?
A: Every other Wed. evening from 7:00-8:30 in the student center. - Q When does confirmation begin?
A: See Calendar at left - Can a student who is older than 7th or 8th grade attend?
A: Yes, if they feel comfortable. - Q: What roles do parents play?
A: Every parent plays a key role with their son or daughter by making sure they are present at worship, YESS, and confirmation. Parents also play THE KEY ROLE at confirmation, as the "heart" of confirmation is having each student in a small group that meets not only on confirmation nights, but also outside of confirmation for fellowship, fun events and service projects. - Q: Do students get to choose their small group?
A: NO - the only person who has any "choice" are those adults who volunteer as a small group leader. We allow them to have input in who is in their small group. However our goal is to make sure everyone has at least one existing friend in their group. - Q: Do students have to memorize?
A: We are much more concerned about what is in a students' heart, than how much he can recite from memory. However, each student will need to know the books of the New Testament (in order) and be able to recite the 10 Commandments, Apostle's Creed, and the Lord's Prayer.
