Difficult times...
...Everyone goes through them. A Stephen Minister will listen, care, and pray both with and for you during this period in your life. This is a friend who will show up even when other friends and family members have given up.
Stephen Ministers might meet the needs of people having these kind of thoughts:
- Life is more than I can handle alone right now.
- I'm adjusting to a new job, change in marital status, a serious illness, the death of a loved one, or a recent move.
- I'd like to have someone in my life to talk to who really cares.
A Stephen Minister is...
• a child of God who walks beside a hurting person
• a caring Christian friend who really listens
• a lay person who has received 50 hours of training in how to provide distinctively Christian care
"Bear one anothers burdens and so fufill the law of Christ." Galatians 6:2
A Stephen Minister is not
• a counselor or therapist
• a problem-solver
• a casual visitor
