Nursery

Our primary goal is to provide a safe, happy and loving atmosphere for your child.  There are a few guidelines that we would like to share with you to make this possible.

AGES:  For Worship services the nursery is available to children that are under 4 years of age.

NURSERY IS LOCATED IN THE WORSHIP CENTER.

SECURITY: (SUNDAYS ONLY)

  1. We ask that you sign your child in at the registration desk located at the entrance to the Nursery, and document where (room # or name) you will be located on the church campus while your child is in the nursery.
  2. Upon registration you will be given a set of tags printed with your child’s name.  One tag is a nametag and will need to be pinned to his/her back. The second tag is a nametag for the diaper bag (if applicable).  We will not release your child to a sibling or any other child under the age of 12.
  3. For the safety of the children and to reduce congestion in the hallway, we ask that only 1 parent drop off and pick up your child and that parents not enter the nursery.

PROCEDURES

PLEASE LABEL EVERYTHING:  Masking tape and markers are available at the registration desk.

PAGERS:  We have a silent paging system available for your use.  Your pager will vibrate if you are needed in the Nursery.  (Please make sure you wear it on you so the vibration can be felt if the need to page you arises.)  We strongly recommend all parents use a pager.

DONATIONS: Each month the nursery sends home memos stating which items are necessary for the care of your child, such as: Goldfish crackers, Cheerios, pretzels, animal crackers, Lysol, Kleenex, etc.  These may be placed in the nursery donation box located behind the registration desk.  The nursery relies heavily on the donations of those who use it.

SNACKS: The nursery will distribute snacks to all children except babies to ensure that your baby is not given food that is inappropriate.  If your child has special dietary needs, please inform the Nursery Coordinator and the nursery workers.  Due to limited equipment and staffing we are unable to spoon-feed infants during Sunday services.

ILLNESS
If your child has had any of the following symptoms in the last 24 hours, we will not be able to accept them in the nursery.  Any of these symptoms may indicate a contagious illness, which can easily be transmitted to others.

  1. Fever of 100 degrees or more.
  2. Runny nose with thick yellow or greenish discharge.
  3. Congested cough, difficulty breathing or wheezing (which is not associated with asthma or allergies).
  4. Diarrhea or vomiting.
  5. Rash associated with communicable diseases (chicken pox, measles, etc.).

If your child has been on an antibiotic for at least 24 hours, the nursery is available.  If your child becomes ill while in the nursery, a nursery worker will either page you or locate you and ask that you pick your child up.

OTHER INFORMATION
We would like you to bring the necessary items to enable us to care for your child properly in the nursery.  The following labeled items, if applicable, are recommended:

  1. Extra diapers.
  2. Change of clothes.
  3. Plastic bottles or juice containers.
  4. Security items such as loveys, pacifiers, blankets, stuffed animals, etc.

We want every child’s experience in the nursery to be a positive one.  With your help and cooperation, this will be a success.
