Christ the King

Not a problem, even if you've never been to church. Each weekend, many people visit Christ the King for the first time. Our worship services don’t require that you have any past church experience.

No problem. We are here for anyone seeking to grow in a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. Being Lutheran isn’t nearly as important as simply having a heart for seeking Jesus. Read about our faith. If you want to learn more about Lutheran doctrine, that’s an option. But it’s certainly not a requirement for attending.

You can expect to be welcomed warmly at the door and to receive a worship program for that service. The service will include music at the beginning, with the words to songs projected on large screens so everyone can sing along if they like. There will be announcements and a message from a pastor that usually lasts about 17-20 minutes. Sometimes, there may be a drama to illustrate that day’s message.

Depending on the service, there may also be baptisms and Holy Communion. The pastor will pray during service, and you may also receive individual prayer after the service from our prayer team. These are people trained to confidentially speak and pray with you.

Wear what you feel is comfortable. We don't have a dress code and wouldn’t want you to worry about this. Some people dress casually, others come in “business casual” attire. Some prefer to dress up, while others prefer to dress down. We are more concerned about your heart and meeting your needs than we are about your clothing.

Absolutely! We have awesome children's programs. Children's Church, during the sermon, is for 3 year olds through 2nd grade. Promiseland, 9:40 Sunday morning, is for kids 3 years through 5th grade, in age-appropriate groups. We have a nursery with a loving qualified staff, a parents’ room and a room for nursing mothers.
For 6th – 12th graders, check out our Student Ministries. This dynamic ministry features small group Bible study, mission opportunities, and social activities.

Vision & Values is a 6 week class about Christ the King and is a step towards becoming connected with this body of believers. Contact Denise to learn about the next class.

The opportunities are endless. Possibly you want to get involved in Bible study or join a small group. (Small groups are an awesome way to get connected to other Christians in fellowship, Bible study and spiritual growth!). Maybe you simply want to see where you can volunteer or what’s available for your children or teens.

 Yes. Many people, including Christians, face challenges in their personal and family lives. These can include addictions, marital problems, financial crises, abuse, depression, divorce, deaths of loved ones, physical trauma and emotional problems. We want to support you and encourage healing in your life however possible.  It is admirable and courageous to recognize that you need support in sorting out life's difficulties.

You may request to meet with one of our pastors to discuss your problem in confidence. We also have several ministries of help, hope, and healing that may be beneficial to you.

There are also mission trips, service projects and volunteer opportunities. You’ll soon discover that LOTS goes on at Christ the King.

It is important to us that those who receive Holy Communion (The Lord's Supper) affirm the following along with us:

• I have been baptized and believe that Jesus Christ gave His life so that I might be forgiven and live forever.

• I believe that Jesus Christ is actually present here. In this meal, I receive bread and wine and His body and blood.

• I desire this gift of Holy Communion because I need forgiveness and power to live as a fully devoted follower of Christ.

If you do not understand any of these statements, or if you have not received instruction about this sacrament, we invite you to speak to one of the pastors, who would be happy to help you understand the meaning of the Lord’s Supper.

Parents, if your child has not completed our communion classes, please speak to one of our pastors before your child takes communion. 

White grape juice is located in the inner ring of the Communion tray for those who prefer its use.
